What Do You Have To Offer?

What do you offer  

 

There was a question asking how to approach an agent to get their business.

My first reaction is to find someone you would like to work with and see what you can do for them.

A title company was asking the question and here were a few of my suggestions:

 

-Put yourself in a position to meet new agents through teaching a class, networking, WCR, Realtor® fairs, and conventions.  Figure out what you have to offer?

-For new agents (and some who may need a refresher)  offer to hold a mock settlement. Go over the closing papers, explain line by line, and give an answer to their questions.

-Offer to supply a plat of the property for each of their buyers or listings.

-Offer your presence at an open house or show up. Do you know someone who might be interested in that property? Introduce them to the home. Maybe, someone you are working with, perhaps a lender, friend, or family member.

-Offer to pull a deed or mortgage information. 

In other words, what can you do for the other person that would make them want to refer their clients to you?

 

This concept is not just for title people. This concept is for all of us.

Nice post. I keep a list of what I offer buyers, sellers, title & escrow, lenders, as well as other trades & services for networking purposes.

Margaret, great post and thank you for the feedback. We have built our business on "information" and availability. As agents tend to work hours that may not be the conventional 9-5, we feel it is important to answer those last minute questions or provide prelim numbers to clients outside of those times, sometimes that may make the deal for the agent.
