Letter To My House: 25 Highfield Court

Selling homes is not about sticks and bricks and taking another listing and making another sale.

Clients, that I choose to work with, are special and unique and many times their home is just as special and unique like

25 Highfield Court in the gated community Overlook

 25 Highfield Ct Margaret Rome

Please take some time to read this letter written by the owner,

Thomas C. Morrow, as he describes their special home.

"Dear 25 Highfield Court-

In this letter, I hope to express my love and appreciation you have given Virginia and me over the last 15 years.

In each season you have managed to show off the many facets of your personality.  Your warmth during the cold dark months of winter helped us keep our sanity during the endless wait for the coming of spring.  Nothing could be more welcoming on a snowy day than a glowing fire in one of the many fireplaces.  Driving up to the entrance, the dual pillars glow like beacons of light, promising welcome to all who enter.

In spring, surrounded by the promise of the luxuriating forests soon to come, sitting on the deck on an early spring evening overlooking the stream and lake evokes a feeling of tranquility more profound than any meditation.

Perhaps the best of your personality is showcased in the summer.  You allow the brightness of the sun to fill the rooms, with views throughout of lush green forest.  Guests relaxing on the deck in the mist of the woods luxuriate in the sounds of nature, not believing they are a mere 10-minute car ride from civilization.

You exhibit the true wonder of natural beauty perhaps most in the fall.  The colors with which you dress yourself are nothing less than the dream of an artist’s masterpiece.

Finally, you have offered the accommodation not only Virginia and me, but to two generations of children and grandchildren.  We have always felt completely secure with you situated in your own cul-de-sac within a gated community.

Words cannot do justice to the pleasures of having been privileged to spend a part of my life surrounded by your comfort and nurturing walls."

Now that you have read the owner's words, take a look at the photos of Tom and Virginia's Home.

What a great looking home.  I can understand why they loved it.

Good morning, Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland well, that's a unique way of marketing a home.... we always say "homes sell themselves"....it's the listing agent's marketing that attracts the buyers....and it only takes one to buy a listing....

after reading the letter, I'm confident you'll have this one sold quickly....but, you sell all of them quickly, with or without a letter!!!!!!!   just sayin'

Hello Margaret - over the years I have seen home sellers write a letter to my house.  It's clear that the proud owners of 25 Highland Court in Hunt Valley appreciate many qualities they have enjoyed throughout their time associated with the home.  You're right a home is much more than sticks and bricks to most.   Potential home buyers like to know a home they are going to purchase has been cared for and about.

Oh wow, Margaret... what a wonderful "toast" to one's home. It's so rare to have someone be able to express so articulately what a home has meant to them.

Wayne Martin This home would work for a couple, a large family, extended family, multi-gen family, and anyone who loves to entertain and enjoy the privacy of the woods and the water.

Barbara Todaro, The sellers, can describe the emotions of the house, and interested buyers love to read the personal side. It is not always about bricks and sticks!

Michael Jacobs  It is a pleasure reading about the "feelings'' of the owners...a different aspect, not just describing the square footage, acreage, number of bedrooms and measurements. I am very proud to represent these sellers and their magnificent home.

Nina Hollander Lucky that this seller, Thomas Morrow, is also an author. Take a look at his latest book.

Just this morning, I was having a quiet conversation with my home.  I've lived here 37 years.  When I first purchased it, I thought it was a temporary home. However, life didn't see it that way.  Today, I see my home as a refuge, a comfortable place.  I really wouldn't wish to live anywhere else, although my home is not elaborate or large.  When it is said and done, they will need to carry me out of here in a box!
