Impressed By A Fridge

Went on listing appointment today and the property was outstanding in many ways. Lots of updates and upgrades but the one thing that I "needed" to know more about was the refrigerator.

Never have I been impressed with an appliance but this one was different. It had a computer screen on the door and it was displaying continuous family photos. No big deal, I've seen the electronic screens with the rotating grand-baby photos but this was in the kitchen and it was more than just photos. It was a computer.

Touching the screen, so many options...the owner continued to show me features.

It was a French door fridge with two drawers...the bottom one, of course, was the freezer but the top one could be either regular or freezer with just the touch of a screen. Need more freezer space...you have it. Need more space for storing fruits, veggies...whatever, just reset it.

And it was in the new black stainless and it matched all the other brand new appliances.

The owner took out her cell phone to show that the contents of the refrigerator could be viewed. When out shopping...no need to guess if you need eggs or milk, go ahead and peek inside.

And I guess you could even keep an eye on who may be sneaking the last ice cream bar of your favorite beer.

If they decide to sell and if they decide to hire me, for sure you will be hearing more about the other, maybe more important, features of this home.

But until that time...just know a refrigerator impressed me.

Cool. That is the first one of these I’ve seen outside of a showroom.

I usually ignore any appliances with computer functions because I always think there are too many things that can go wrong. That being said, the fact that you can look in the refrigerator to see what you are missing (from a phone while at the store) is sooo cool! I might have to adjust my way of thinking.

Michelle Carr Crowe,Altas Just Call...408-252-8900! It is pretty impressive. It could definitely keep you in the kitchen longer.

Kat Palmiotti No more staring at the open fridge deciding what you want. Use your phone and save electricity.

You sure know how to remind us that our refrigerators are so dated!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Good luck with the listing.

Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland - I saw this type of refrigerator a few years ago. It amazed me too but I couldn't get excited about the camera feature. Everyone has a preference and at that time, I preferred a better camera for business and pleasure to carry around with me than a built-in one taking photos inside my refrigerator. For just one person, I wasn't convinced it was for me; however, for others, especially large families it could be very helpful.

If this is what you want, I hope you get it soon!

That is an impressive fridge, Margaret.  I use to worry about peeping Toms looking in my windows, but now I have concerns Tom may actually be a new refrigerator!
