Just Put It Down

In a stress management class, the instructor held up a glass of water in front of a group and asked ..How much does this glass weigh?

scale

The answer:

Does not matter. The real weight is not a true measure. It is the length of time you hold onto that glass.

A few minutes, there no problem you don't notice the weight. After an hour it gets heavy and uncomfortable. And holding it much longer can be painful and impossible. The glass did not get heavier, but the longer you hold it, the heavier it seems.

Think about this glass of water as a real estate challenge. Challenges need to be dealt with right away. Then move on to the next situation.

By continuing to hold on, delaying action, and doing nothing will almost always cause problems.  And in real estate, some challenges can quickly turn into problems.

There are so many obstacles in our real estate world.  Starting from financing to buyer's remorse, to miscommunications, and mistakes in general.

Evaluate, make a plan,  come up with a  solution. Don't just hold onto that glass. Don't just hold onto that problem. Don't just hold onto that anger and emotion.

Make a decision! Do something!

Drink it! Pour it out! Put it down!

The quicker you deal with a tough situation,

the quicker you can get to the final closing.

Congratulations on the feature, such a great relation to what we do every day. I see those who wait to hope it goes away. Others who hide and hope it doesnt get worse, but i was taught from early on, to tackle any issue right away before it grows. Preventive medicine is best in this industry

I once saw a dog chasing its tail finding it amusing. At some point, the dog was exhausted from trying and laid down and curled-up in a ball. It was then that the dog saw his tail right next to his mouth, bit it a few times and took a snooze afterwards. Why we do or how we do is upon us all to examine and refine

What a great analogy, Margaret. Real Estate is filled with emotional moments for many - learning how to deal with those moments quickly and effectively is crucial. We have a very emotional seller right now, we are working hard to keep her calm and one of the ways is to quickly give her  information to help ease any concerns.
