Does Blogging Sell Houses

blogging margaret rome

A frequent question:

Does blogging help sell houses?

Answer:

Does one print advertisement sell a house?

Does one flyer sell a house?

Does one For Sale sign sell a house?

Does placing the property in the MLS sell it?

Does one impromptu open house do the trick?

Does one radio show sell a house?

Does burying a St. Joseph statue sell a home?

Does one nosy neighbor sell a house?

Does one blog post sell a listing?

Does networking with others sell a house?

I don't think so!

 Everything works sometimes.

Nothing works all the time!

It's a combination of all the above plus creativity, experience and a lot of hard work.

Here are a few of the positive effects of blogging on my Real Estate business?

I have found many buyers and sellers from blogging.

I enjoy blogging and the instant gratification of the comments.

I wrote a book because of blogging.

I left a big box company after 18 years because of advice received from blogging.

I started HomeRome Realty with the help and confidence that came from blogging.

I have my own radio show and blogging is the perfect tie-in. The radio show feeds the blog, the blog feeds the radio show.

I speak with an AR member every day because of blogging.

I have found many buyers and sellers from blogging. (This one was worth repeating.)

I have sent and received numerous referrals from blogging?

I have referral partners in every state from blogging.

I have friendships both business and personal from blogging.

I promote my listings through blogging.

I make my clients part of my blogging.

Blogging has been a wonderful part of HomeRome Realty.

Hi Margaret,
We never know what is going to work in any given situation, do we?  So, you need a long and wide net.

Blogging is effective in so many ways!

You are a marketing machine Margaret!  I can imagine how fun and enlightening it must be to listen to your radio show.  I think sometimes when we talk, blog, communicate, we don't pontificate (hope I spelled that right) enough on the minutiae of the story.  We skip over so much that we could be telling a bigger story.  Maybe that's the tie in for you - more details and better blogs and radio shows?!

Hello Margaret - whether it be blogging or some other activity (maybe not even real estate related) consistency matters. That said, there are other contributing factors such as good content.

Blogging is a form of content marketing and when done well does increase not only new customers, but provides credibility for the individual.  I wrote one article on LinkedIn and that article generated $10,000 in revenue for me. Blogging helped me become recognized as one of the top women sales experts over the years.  As you wrote, blogging is integrated into all other aspects of marketing. Outstanding post.

Blogging is just one part of the mix - an important part. Everything you do works with everything else you do, so it would be impossible to choose just one activity and say "This sells houses."

Well, unless that one activity was persistence or consistency.

Hi Margaret

I don’t think there are any silver bullets, but blogging can sure accomplish a lot, as other things can, when done consistently!

HAve a wonderful weekend!

Hi Margaret, you're right, there is no silver bullet. There isn't one thing that will help you sell a property, it's a combination of efforts. Having said that, blogging has so many additional benefits including driving more and on-going traffic to your website.

It's like music, light. It starts with a lone note, a single candle flame and then detonates from there with your reach and frequency. No blogging, no advertising, no online, direct mail, out and about circulation to bump into people means it is like winking at a girl in the dark. You get very poor results. Just blogging won't win the prize... but how you shake and bake those blog posts is the proof in the pudding. It has to be worthwhile blogging wired right to explode in a good way. Catch that wave.

Posted by Andrew Mooers | 207.532.6573, Northern Maine Real Estate-Aroostook County Broker (MOOERS REALTY) 6 months ago

Agreed. A little of everything helps and may not work today but it might tomorrow. Blogging in truth only works if done regularly for years.
