What's In A Color

Each year in early December the color experts release the Pantone Color of the Year.

Now that I know the new color for the year as announced by Pantone, living coral, shades of this color seems to be popping up all over.

Just never noticed the color until now but here it is in a painting by

It's in the fall leaves  of my 'coming soon' property.

 I see in the fireplace

And it popped up in Richard Weeks  Q & A

Even the 'Active' in ActiveRain looks a bit like this color.

Are you noticing this 'living coral' color?

Hi Margaret,
It's interesting what you see when you suddenly become "aware", isn't it? I have also heard that Behr named a teal color called Blueprint as their color of the year.  Maybe that's for 2018.

Carol Williams Yes, Sally K. & David L. Hanson  wrote about Behr color of the year   Blueprint S 470-5

Maybe all the paint companies have their own color of the year. Quite interesting.

Margaret I am not thrilled about this color even though I once owned a leisure suit in that color ........ LOL

Hi Margaret- it's interesting how the different companies choose a paint color every year. Though this one is not what I would consider a favorite, I would use it as a splash of color. I also use it with turquoise.

These paint colors of the year don’t help when you are trying to tell a seller they should “neutralize” their home and repaint their colorful walls a nice beige! :-)

George Souto We would all love to see you in that leisure suit.

Kathy Streib  This morning I commented on someone's nail polish...it looked like "living coral". She wanted to know more so I showed her the color on my blog. She felt very special.

Francine Viola If you are selling...please don't paint everything the color of the year. As Kathy Streib says...use it as an accent.

Margaret I'm not big on color of the year stuff. The new color is ok for small things but I sure wouldn't be changing up any wall colors etc with it. Because I'd have to change it again next year to the newest color.  LOL Just kidding!!

Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS 602-380-4886 Looks like you have a bit of that new color in your photo  I can't help but find this color everywhere!

It would be nice in small doses as you suggest. Isn't it funny how we get something in our radar - and suddenly we see it everywhere. Haha.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I am still seeing it everywhere. Our waitress at dinner tonight also had this coral color on her nails.
