Marketing The Rome Way...Past Present & Future

 Part 1

About ten years ago I left the big box company to start a REALTOR® auction company. At the time I was using the term "accelerated marketing" wanting to help guide auction sellers before, during and after.

In that short year, I knew it was not for me but it was a fun intense year and I learned so much ...especially how to get to the seller's bottom line number.

I'm not calling this type of marketing a loser...it was more like taking a one year course and made me a better real estate agent and prepared me for being a solo broker...opening HomeRome Realty.

everything works sometimes

 Part 2

Marketing is so important in real estate and it is something I love to do. It is exciting finding wonderful unique homes and sellers that I like and respect.

Each of my listings get weekly advertising, numerous blogs, not just the MLS write up but highlights of the property, of the surroundings or maybe an attraction that is near by. Or maybe the seller's favorite restaurant.

On my really special properties, I have my sellers write a letter to their home and I find these to be very effective when the right buyer comes along. They can see first hand how much the home was loved.

Always highlighting properties to find the perfect buyer.

Combining  two decades of marketing along with  a decade of blogging  has been a wonderful way to give these houses exposure to the qualified people who want these exciting homes.

 Margaret Rome

Part 3

Through my live weekly radio I can share all my listings, allow my sellers to call in for even more exposure and find specific homes for specific buyers.

It is fun to engage the listening audience with different real estate subjects that I share based on my experience.

This year I am doing double duty using my blogs as topics for the radio show. I am looking forward to inviting other industry professionals to join me occasionally on the show.

It might be a lender, a title attorney, a vendor or just an interesting buyer, seller, real estate agent or, the most fun is, a raving fan.

It might be an ActiveRain member. Let me know your thoughts.

Would  you like to share an experience, a transaction or a story that is

All About Real Estate.

It takes a lot of trail and error to learn how to market properly. Thank goodness so many people like yourself are willing to to let the rest of us learn a little faster if we are willing to listen.

Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland - Your radio show is a fantastic way to get to the public. As to strategies that weren't quite right for you, as you say, this is not a loss, it teaches us something. I've certainly learned a lot the last dozen years that I've been in business. Mostly, that this is not a "cookie cutter" business so how can you expect the same results from marketing?

JL Boney, III One of my favorite lines for marketing...It's my job to remind people I am in REAL ESTATE. It's not their job to remember.

One ad, one radio show, one open house, one  blog does NOT usually bring results. That concept is not understood by lot of people. I can promise it does not happen over night or "trying" an idea for once or twice.

Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® Great comment and this would also be a great title for a blog...

For your next post, I would love to hear more about the letters you have sellers write to their home.  I'm very intrigued.

Good morning, Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland what you do is called "Marketing Like You Mean It"....and that's why you are such a successful solo Broker/Owner/Agent.... you mean what you say, and it reflects the attitude you have about our profession and complements the beauty of every home you list.... and I'm so happy print marketing is included in your marketing plan... it works because you make it work... you spend the money, and you have return on it.

Margaret whatever you are doing is working and the radio is a different approach that allows you leverage when on a listing appointment. Can you measure metrics, like how many people are listening etc?

Nick & Trudy Vandekar, 610-203-4543   I do not know know how many listeners. Guess I could ask about this information from the radio show.

Good Morning Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland - Your background on how you came to own your own Brokerage Company is very motivating. I really like the quote because "nothing works all the time," got stuck in my throat while reading and will remain there as a reminder that you must keep building your business to last.

Congratulations on the feature and on achieving success the Rome way!
