A Different Kind Of Gift

The making of a holiday memory.

I have clients  selling a family home. The stress is showing. Just
overwhelmed  with too much to do and not enough time...it is even affecting their health. They asked for
extra time ...a closing extension.

I had another suggestion.
The buyers are beyond happy, feeling they have hit the lottery, buying their
dream house and cannot wait for the closing date. They want to help the
sellers and have offered whatever was needed.

When I spoke with the owners yesterday, I suggested allowing the buyers to
help with the move. They thought it was an imposition.

When I shared the
idea with the buyers they were overwhelmed with appreciation. They were so
excited about helping the owners pack their things and "clean out" the
property that they would be calling home.

You get by giving.

It's better to give than receive.

Both are appropriate
sayings for these two families.
I love when this giving and sharing is so appreciated.

Allowing someone to
help can be a different kind of gift for both!

Margaret,

Your post perfectly illustrates your concept of time as a gift.  What a wonderful win/win situation for both buyer and sellers.  That is the joy of working with great people!  And you facilitate it it all.  Bravo to all.  A

Several years ago, a group of us was asked what was most precious to us.  I immediately answered, TIME.

Margaret- what an interesting idea!  I think most people want to help when asked the right way!  It was a win-win for all.

That is working together.  It col dalso be a time in which the sellers and buyers talk about issues and how things work in the new home

Good evening Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland,

I'm not surprised that you came up with a solution for a win/win situation for your sellers. and the buyers. You are right "you get by giving. It's better to give than receive." Do you still have your Floyd Wickman pin "You get by giving?" I do .

Oh my, Margaret! I JUST won a bidding war for one of my buyers by having them offer to do the 'clean out' for an older couple who were selling. That meant more to them than the price and they scooped that Offer right up!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Debe Maxwell, CRS This sounds exactly like the buyers and sellers in this transaction. Love how we think alike.

Me too, Margaret! So funny but, someone posted a question about the most 'unique' offering in an Offer to Purchase - I shared that client there too last week!

Let's chat soon - it's been awhile!

Debe Maxwell, CRS I missed that question. Do you have time to call in the radio show tomorrow 12-1 ? It might make a good topic for discussion!

Margaret Time has a huge value, all the people that volunteer in Animal Rescue, The Soup kitchens and the list goes on and on could do other things with their time, they chose not to, but rather help those in need. Hence time is more precious and more valuable...Endre

What a wonderful solution to a probem, and it helped both the buyers and sellers to pitch in and get the move done. Congrats on a unique remedy to helping the sellers vacate the home.
