This past week, I received a call from a long time follower. He mentioned he has watched my ads, he has listened to my live radio show and was given my name by a former special client who recommended me after a very successful transaction.
He said he was looking for an expert in real estate and that he wanted my help.
He is now ready to sell his home in a very desirable neighborhood. He wants me to write a contract for a buyer he has already negotiated with. He stated that he has already done all the work, found the buyer and has a contract he took from the Internet. Since he was out-of-town, he wanted me do to this for him... just for his convenience.
Since he had sold other homes in the past and used to teach real estate, he knew how easy this was for me. I didn't need to advertise or find the buyer. You see he had done all the work!
I wished him good luck.
Also mentioned that it was like the surgeon who would try to remove his own gallbladder. He certainly knows how to do it but...not a wise decision.
Knowing what the property was worth and what he was negotiating, he could have realized a lot more... even paying a full commission.
He really thinks...Getting the buyer is the easy part.
This is not a contract I will be writing.
