Double Closets...Hers and Hers !

When showing properties, depending on the potential clients, I sometimes  call the closets 'Hers and Hers'.

It is usually funny until one says he has more clothes.

Then I say; ' Okay they are now 'His' and 'His'.

There is always a smile especially when someone hears this a first time. Our advertising and our selling.. needs to have some personality and a bit of fun.

Hers and Hers

I have seen the couples who teasingly ( I hope ) when seeing this much space, tells the other partner they can have the tiny linen closet. All in fun.

By the way, closets can sell a home, make sure they are staged.

Good tip about staging closets. If it's a walk-in closet you should be able to walk into it.

Closets are, for many buyers, a big deal. I've seen a fair amount of joking about them and who gets what space! As far as staging? Yep, it's important since appropriate storage can be a matter, and a cramped closet sends the wrong message.

Her's and her's are the story of my life. I have a huge walk-in and my husband has his own, but I use a good third of his. Every so often I run into a client wher he's the clothes horse, but it's still the exception rather than the rule.

Good morning Margaret. From the title thought you were showing my wife property. Enjoy your day!

Good mornign, Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland that's great advice to "stage all closets"..... potential buyers always look in closets and determine functionality.... California Closets does a great job of designing functional closet space....even garages need to be staged.... bike racks and storage units....

Wayne Martin Cute comment. Is your wife looking for houses?

Good morning Barbara Todaro You are the marketing guru and everyone looks in closets. I have some sellers who want to take all the stuff and put it in the garage! NO!!! Garages need to be clean and free to show that it is only for cars.

Hi Margaret!  Almost all the time this 'fun' conversation goes on when looking at homes with clients. Although I have never marketed it that way.

Great talking with you Margaret!  And it's funny as I mentioned your post to Gary and he just laughed!  He said - OMG that is so the way it goes with buyers of all kinds. One of the couple is the clothes horse and the other ones knows it and gives into it!  I wonder which one of us is the clothes horse!!!

Hi Margaret - I see Anna beat me to the punch on my answer.  And BTW she's the clothes horse. I'm an engineer and all my stuff matchs cause it's all black.

I remember listing a home that had His and Hers closets.  And, it was hilarious when you opened them.  His was neat as a pin; but her's, not so much!
