Choose Your Professional Wisely

Just because a person has a MD,CPA,ESQ or REALTOR® after their name does not make them the best Professional.

Remember in every university, medical school, law school etc, there were 50% that finished in the bottom half. The joke in Baltimore: what do you call the person who graduates last in medical school? Answer: Doctor.

When choosing any professional, do your research, get referrals from others that you trust and respect. The person you see on a billboard, park bench or back of a bus may be just fine but please do a bit more research. Check credentials, talk to their past clients, interview and make sure you are a good match.

The only difference between a salesman and a con man is intent!

To me name brands are not about the company!

They are about the people.

Think of the big real estate companies, the big hospitals, and the top notch schools.

The big box real estate company is only as good as the agent you get.

The big important highly rated school is only as good as the teacher your child gets.

And the world renown hospital  is only as good as the doctor and  nurses  who treat you.

How do you choose a professional?

Once upon a time I put all the designations on my business card. I remember when I realized who I was trying to impress, me.

Hi Margaret

Bottom line it really IS all about the Realtor you hire, the experience, and what they can and will do for you, not their company nor a fancy resume.

Good morning Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland,

It's always important to research and choose carefully after completing your due diligence on any professional you are hiring.

I like the comment left by Jeff Dowler . . .I agree with you one hundred percent!  It's also important to find an agent that you are simpatico with.  I remember speaking with a relative in another state.  She mistakenly had chosen the top listing agent in her area.  Unfortunately, the agent only seemed interested in putting cans on the shelf (inventory), but was absent, out of town, out of country, much of the time.

Finding the right professional to help you in any field is so important.  Referrals are the way I go about finding someone.  When a friend has had a positive experience, that's a good place to start.
