Wonderfully Busy or TOO Busy

It seems that everyone I speak with is saying these words. If you are in real estate and NOT busy, at the end of June, I would worry.

The problem is these words are an excuse. Things are not getting done because " everyone is so busy."

As a consumer, this is not what you want to hear.

You want to feel special, that time is being made for you.

I like to use the term "wonderfully busy" but never TOO BUSY.

This past week I had a home inspection with Joe Brandli.

I know he is busy...he is guaranteeing next day inspections. When Joe came to the property he made everyone feel important. He took time to greet the buyers,  taking their picture in front of  the new house.

He brought along a color fan and a big tape measure for the  buyers to use.

Nice touch, Joe.

Good Service Margaret Rome

This was done in addition to giving a first class inspection, using an infrared detector along with explaining and answering all questions. The buyers were encouraged to call the company, during the year, if they had concerns.

There was a full report along with photos ...yes, Joe has a printer with him.

I love wonderfully busy, efficient people who can get it done.

Are you wonderfully busy or just TOO busy?

Margaret,

Nice commentary on busyness.  I think that many use being too busy as a way to avoid doing certain things.  It is a good way to excuse oneself when you don't want to be with someone,  A

Thank you for the post. I have seen people say they are busy when they are really not that busy.

Busyness is used as an excuse far too often.   I also agree with the comment left by Alexandra Seigel.

Your home inspector clearly thinks 'Out of the Box' and I am sure clients really appreciate his service. Nice touch!

I always say that their is a difference between being busy and busyness. I never want to be busy for the sake of looking busy. Worth a post about this.

Hi Margaret - I agree. Busy is the desired state for agents in our business, and the busier the better. Give us a wee bit too much downtime and we get nervous and have to go make things happen.

Dick Greenberg I hear too many agents who are too busy but they are not productive. Not a good combination.

I perform at my peak when I am busy.  Forces you to stay on point to get things done.

Margaret I believe in pacing myself and not rushing through meetings with clients or anyone for that matter. Be with the one you're with -  100% present - give them your full attention!  Albeit yesterday was a somewhat busy phone day  a& all the fires were smoothed out one at a time.

Anna Banana Kruchten, CRS There are some days I feel like the fire and other days like  fire extinguisher.
