What's Your Topic?

This question was recently asked on Q&A... by a new blogger Karen Jones Lewis

"I am co-host on a radio show talking real estate. What do you think is a good topic to discuss?"

This is the same question we ask ourselves when we write a blog.  And it is the same question each week prior to my live radio show.

What do others want to talk about?

You really don't know until you jump in start sharing your ideas and see what kind of response you receive.

You can talk about a listing approach that was successful. You can talk about how a client found you.

You can look at your notes during the week and talk about a listing, a sale, an appointment, something positive that happened, something that didn't go quite right.

You may want to praise another agent or professional in the business.

What questions have you been asked either through a call, text or email?

You may want to share a wonderful client's testimonial.

The list is as long as your thoughts and imagination.

What do you want to say?

What do you want to teach?

What do you want to share?

How can you help your buyers and your sellers?

How can you  help your fellow Realtors®?

How can you help other professionals in our industry?

How do you learn from a mistake?

So I ask...What is a good topic to discuss?

Hi Margaret Rome, Baltimore Maryland, good topics for real estate agents is how to generate new listings, for buyers, I would have to say how to win in a multiple offer situation and for sellers, how to get your home for the most money. Topics are plenty, never a dull day in our business.

With a shortage of homes for sale across many places in the United States, I'm wondering what the answer will be.  I'm also seeing a fast escallation of prices and wonder if affordability for many won't be an issue.

Myrl Jeffcoat Both of yours are good topics. Maybe you could write about them...if you haven't already.

Excellent questions for her to ask herself too, Margaret!  I'm sure you come up with ideas for your show from a lot of our Q&A - and even posts that need to be discussed further too!

For agents - I would love some pointers in generating new listings when many of our sellers are trying the FSBO route in this market, full of buyers waiting in the wings.  That's what I'm experiencing here!

Margret

A good topic is something of interest us or our target audience.

Good luck and success.

Hi Margaret --- it seems to be a never-ending question...the topics are as wide as our imagination and the reality of our daily lives in real estate.  And outside that forum too.
