This Little Light Of Mine

This little light switch is for safety and convenience.

We all know that plug in night lights don't last very long so here is a simple and inexpensive solution for an electrician to make a home more comfortable.

Take an ordinary light switch like the one on the left below and add illumination.

During the day, you cannot see this light but when the house is dark, you can easily find the switch. It looks like the picture on the right...just a tiny little light.

Where would you use these illuminated lights?

Margaret, I think those would really come in handy in guest areas.  Perhaps not in a bedroom itself (I could see waking up at 3 a.m. and just staring at the light!), but a little glow in the hallway or guest bath could really help someone visiting.

Margaret- what a great idea! I'm going to have Larry install them in our hallway and guest bathroom!

Illuminated light switches -- such a clever idea, and so very practical. A bathroom would be a great place to start, or near a stairwell.

Margaret, such a simple idea, but so ideal. I don't like things that are too bright at night because we are light sleepers (light, hah!!), and yet it isn't disruptive.

I do like the idea that Liz and Bill Spear spoke of by having it just be a glow....softer, but still apparent.

This is a very good idea to share. Seniors should not be walking in the dark.

Good morning Margaret.  We keep a night light on which is very easy to spot.  If it were me I would have one in almost every room of the house.
