Loving Real Estate

After writing last night's post This is what happiness looks like, I realized how lucky I am to be in real estate. Each of my buyers and sellers are special and each one has a story to tell.

How they found me and who referred them makes each one as unique as the properties I represent.

I still love real estate. Margaret Rome

Each listing transaction is different. Some are short...those are the ones that come into my life, sell a house and move away.

But more often than not, friendships and connections form.

How does this happen?

By selecting  people I really want  in my life.

Each and every client are first class and special no matter what the price range.

By limiting the number at any one time, I can continue to give each of them the first class service they deserve.

When I first got into the business there was a  seasoned agent who asked how I liked RE. My answer  "I love it." She responded "that's because you haven't been in it long enough."

Several years later, this same agent asked me the same question and received the same answer. ''Yes, I still loved it.''

She found that hard to believe so I asked her:

"Don't you like real estate?

Her answer was quite negative..."How can anyone like this business?"

With this attitude, I asked why she would stay so long in a career. She said "This is where I can make money.''

I made a vow that day. If I ever said I did not like what I was doing. I would quit. So far in over 2 decades, I have never felt that way.  And I can honestly say....

I am still

Loving Real Estate.

Margaret- it is so easy to tell how much you love real estate just by talking to you or listening to your weekly real estate radio show.  And I'll bet your clients see your love of it as well.

You are blessed - as am I to do a job that we love - and get paid for it! Amazing isn't it?

There are deals that are easy and there are deals that are more difficult, and the longer we're in the business (hopefully) the better we'll get. I can't imagine doing anything else.

Good morning Margaret.  When this becomes a job I'll quit, no second thoughts, I'll just walk away.

Me too!  I love hanging out with nice people and helping them with their project to buy or sell or both -- to get from where they are to where they want to be.  The secret is to work only with reasonable people, and the secret to that is to work almost entirely by referral.

I so love this business and I'm with you, if I didn't I would have to leave.  If this becomes a J.O.B to me and I dread it, how could I do my best?

Margaret, I still love it too, and yes, there are frustrating days, but they soon pass.  It is all in the attitude!

Regardless of the occupation, if you don't enjoy doing it, you probably should not be doing it, haha.  I am glad you love real estate, I do too!
