But then a big chain of discount hair cutters came into town. They advertised $5 haircuts. Their signs were everywhere. They had bill boards. They advertised on radio and on TV. And they were doing a tremendous amount of business with $5 haircuts.
The stylists at The Salon were losing customers. They went to the owner and said, "We have to reduce our prices. We cannot compete. We are surrounded by these $5 haircut people!"
The owner just smiled a wise smile and assured them he had a solution. He knew that his salon was first class, that his stylists were the best, and that reducing his fees was not the answer. He had another plan.
The next morning when the operators came to work they saw this small sign in front of the The Salon:

I would love to find a sign for real estate.
What would YOUR sign read?
Baltimore,Md.

I have seen a post closing sign from a Realtor saying
"Thanks _____...we love our new home!"
You could be:
"Thanks Margaret Rome, We love our new Home! "
or " Another Home Sold By Margaret Rome! "
How about: "We do what discounters don't?"
Oy, I can't believe I just wrote that and am going to click submit. HONESTLY, I know discounters serve a purpose and work hard. It's just all I can come up with right now. I don't want a blog war starting on Margaret's blog over my "I've been up for nine hours in a crazy comment marathon" comment. If anyone feels a need to start a blog war, you're welcome to do so at my other blog (link is below)

Margaret... late to the party here. After reading it twice, it took me a minute....or two. But a great message here. I might need to steal this post and send it to my clients as a welcome package. And of course, I would keep your name on it.
This should have been a featured blog. Excellent and short post... great message.
Steal away, credit of course. This was one of my favorite posts. Thanks for the comments.
Better late than never making the party!
Enjoy the holidays!
You are a winner! You were my 500th comment. :-)
Margaret....
I meant to ask you about that. 500th comment on the show? And what do I win? lol
You win my admiration and appreciation!! Did you have something else in mind?
your next client? ;o)
Happy Holidays
Margaret~
Having seen a few of those $5 haircuts, I can relate. If it's the hair that 's the problem, it can get fixed.. .
my sign might read...
NO "TRIMS" HERE
janeAnne, There is always a "fix". Sometimes it is time...wait a while for the hair to grow back.
Jeff, Hope your business is thriving. Sorry I missed your last comment way back in December.
Margaret
That hair cut sign is a good one and hard to beat. You do pose a very interesting question though, and that is what does your sign look like?
It is something that we as Realtors in competition with each other have to overcome each and everyday.
