In Case of Nuclear Attack.... Uh-Oh, Pilot Humor!
Saturdays are airport days for the guys. Lee and his flying buddies are at the airport every week going somewhere for lunch (sometimes referred to as the $200 hamburger!) This week was Lee's birthday so I decided to tag along. Eight of us flew to Millville, NJ and enjoyed a down home meal at Verna's Flight Line Restaurant. The waitress brought a piece of carrot cake with a candle and the whole darn restaurant sang Happy Birthday.

Some of the signs could relate to real estate, like, "The impossible we do immediately…miracles take a little longer." Others like the Army Airfield insignia told a bit about the history of this old airfield.

In Case of Nuclear Attack.... Uh-Oh, Pilot Humor!
I saw the sign that started, "Notice-In case of Nuclear Bomb Attack..." and thought, "What an unusual sign", so I read it aloud to everyone. Oops - look at the punch line! I'd been had by pilot humor.

Still, it was a good day for flying and a birthday celebration with friends and flying buddies.

Margaret, I would get set up like that too. What a fun way to spend Saturdays for them! $200 hamburgers, indeed!
What a fun outing, Margaret. So when do we get a video of you up in the plane?
Love the signage - the one about the impossible is a great one.
Jeff
It sounds like so much fun just flying away to where ever for lunch. The sign looks so official to eand with a joke.
Margaret, what a cool and fun way to be with friends! I am glad that everyone was safe from any strange attacks. :)
Margaret, What a wonderful day! Loved the photos and the pilot humor! Happy Birthday to Lee.
That had to be a great hamburger to fly so far for! Happy Birthday to Lee! Glad you are home safe and sound!
Belated Happy Birthday Lee.....may all your birthday wishes come true...and many more !
Connie, It is a "club" of sorts...only thing important is the love of flying.
Jeff, When you bring the video camera and fly with us.
Team, It was a very official looking sign.
Lizette, Only a few laugh attacks.
Elyse, Thanks for your good wishes.
Evelyn, Always fun to get together. Thank you.
Sally, Let's clink our glasses to that!
I started to read your blog and kept looking for the nuclear attack reference. But by the time I got to the line about the brilliant white flash, I knew I had been sucked in.
Elizabeth, You now know exactly how I felt!
I was reading along, thinking the whole idea was kind of dumb.
Then the punch line!
Great!!
Phil
