Recently in the Q & A section the question was asked by Harry F. D'Elia ...have you thought about hosting a radio show?
There were many comments and I was mentioned a few times.
Not only had I thought about it... I have been hosting one for the past 3 years.
For me it has been fabulous.
Many of you know first hand that I have spoken to an AR member each day..but only since 2006. So talking and real estate comes natural.
This is not something to "try" for a few weeks or months. This is a commitment...every Sunday for an hour. (I've missed only one show in the past 3 years.)
It takes time to build credibility just like any form of advertising. In the beginning it is not easy to tell if you have a listeners. If you are lucky... friends, clients and other professionals call in.
Guests are invited on various real estate topics but an hour show goes pretty fast for me.
There are some Sundays when there are no callers and I talk about my listings, the homes needed for specific buyers and a summary of the previous week..picking topics that I find interesting and hope others do also.
Then there are the Sundays when the phone lines are jammed and I take as many callers as time allows.
Just like day to day real estate, you don't know what the question or comment will be. I find this unpredictability very exciting.
A friend and colleague asked how I prepare for the show each week.
My preparation is the couple dozen years of real estate experiences.
Years of transactions, being out in the field, listing unique properties, continuous education and picking the best clients in the world. This is how I have prepared for
