An unrecognized number came up on my phone. It was from West Virginia and yes I answered the phone. They mentioned an address and right away I knew he found me on one of those TRZ online contacts.
I started to give my stock answer...not my listing, go find a buyer's agent yada yada.
This caller was different. He could not reach his Baltimore friend.. no answer to his many calls. He knew the address but not the name of the building. He was about to make a 6-8 hour trip to Baltimore to check on his lifelong friend.
He wanted the phone number of the building's front desk so someone could check on his friend. He was beside himself with worry.
He suspected the worse.
With a few minutes to spare, I went to our MLS (easy for a Realtor ®), pulled up the address, got the latest sale and was able to identify the building. With a quick Google check, I had the phone number to building's front desk.
Giving the information to the caller, I asked him to let me know if his friend was okay. He was so appreciative.
A few minutes later the phone rang...same man. The front desk was able to reach his friend of over forty five years.
They had a message from the friend and she did not want to talk to him.
She was mad at him because of who he was voting for!!
He was so grateful and so relieved that his long time friend was safe!
He said this through a great deal of emotion and tears.
I sure hope he was joking when he said he was going to drive to Baltimore and kill her for making him worry so much.
Now that's politics.
