In our busy lives time is money and everything has to be done super fast, like texting, emailing and electronic signatures. This technology helps expedite the real estate process.
But do you really know who's signing?
Working with a very close family whose father was in the hospital, I met the wife and a daughter at a condo. They needed to move. Dad would not be able to return to the family home because of the steps.
A decision was made, after viewing this property, to write an offer. Yes the entire family is sure this is the right place for them.
I took down their information and alerted their lender that we needed an approval letter to move forward. When speaking with the family, I found out that one sibling had power of attorney for her dad. I asked to see a copy of the POA to include with my offer.
Then I asked: Who will be signing the contract offer. The sister said the brother would be signing because his signature would be more like Dad's writing.
Whoa.... Who's signing?!
I will be meeting in person with the family so I will be sure and not have to say
